Research Notes:
said to have been a daughter of William Clinton, Earl of Huntingdon, but this is probably an error [Ref: CP V p518note]

placement as daughter of William Clinton, Earl of Huntingdon, is based chiefly on visitation records, five of which identify Elizabeth as the Earl's daughter, including the reliable Vis of the North dated c1490 [Ref: Richardson RoyalAnc v2p675(35)]

sometimes said to have been a daughter of William Clinton, Earl of Huntingdon. This appears to be an error, but Hunter thought that she really was a Clinton, though not the Earl's daughter. [Ref: BaildonWP BAILDON v1p361]

on death of William De Clinton, Earl of Huntingdon, his nephew John de Clinton was found to be heir. [Ref: CP III p313]

no doubt that William de Clinton d.s.p.m, as his heir was his elder brother's son, Sir John (Lord) Clinton. The only probably surmise as to this daughter, who inherited none of his lands, is that, if she ever existed, she was illegitimate [Ref: CP III p324(b)]
