appears that Roger made his father, William, executor of his will, since 21 was the requisite legal age to sue in court, and Roger knew that some of his debts might need to be recovered in court [Ref: Reed SEYMOUR p220]

there is no certain evidence for his year of birth nor parents. He married about 1347-9 to a young widow. If Roger was the son and heir of William of Woundy, he would have been born about 1320-5. If he was the second son of Roger of Penhow, he may have been born about 1300-5 [Ref: Reed StMAUR p425]
