Research Notes:
she is said to have been the daughter of Sir Alexander Seton of Seton in SP II
p273, and is called daughter of Sir Alan de Seton at CP IV p509. However, the
Earl's daughter Elizabeth, on 24 Apr 1438, asked for prayers for the sould of
Dunbar and Wardlaw family members (SP II p275-6). Elizabeth was obviously
remembering her father's family and then her mother's family. [Ref: Thompson
CharlesII v13-254(112)]
Andrew MacEwen has identified George's wife (and Elizabeth's mother) as
Christiana Wardlaw. Her father is as yet unidentified, but either Christiana's
mother, or a grandparent, had to be closely related (and a yet unidentified)
for this relationship to be valid. [Ref: John Ravilious SGM 3/7/2007-080037]
