sons), married 1408 Patrick de Dunbar and had four additional sons. [Ref:

It is usually claimed in print that Euphame Stewart, Countess Palatine of
Strathearn, married (2nd) Patrick de Dunbar, younger brother of George Dunbar
10th Earl of March (see SP III p260). This marriage, however, actually belongs
to Countess Eupheme's mother-in-law, also named Eupheme Stewart, daughter of
Sir John Stewart of Railston and widow of Patrick de Graham, Knt of Kincardine
and Dundaff. That the elder Euphame Stewart married (2nd) before 8 Oct 1408
Patrick Dunbar is proven by a charter issued by the elder Euphame found in
Registrum Episcopatus Brechinensis 2 (1856) pp56-58. Special thanks to John P
Ravilious for pointing out this charter evidence. [Ref: Richardson RoyalAnc

Charter of a tenement in Monross Ly[Lady?] Grahame
In the name of God, Amen
Let it be evidently clear that in the year of the Incarnation, on Sunday
the one thousand four hundred and thirty-seventh of the month October [break]
Eugene [break] pope in the fourth year of the sixth [break] Personally
appointed a discreet man Sir Patrick Elyoth chaplain of the Holy Cross of
Montross certain letters written on parchment clearly and distinctly not
erased [break] nor did he produce in any part of himself the suspected names
and seals of the undersigned, and delivered them to me, the undersigned public
notary, to be read and published, and to be regulated in a public form, the
first of which begins thus. To all who shall see or hear this letter, William
Graham, Lord of Kyncardyn, peace in the Lord forever. You know that I have
sold, for a certain good and just cause, with the consent and assent of Madam
Eufamie, the late relict of our father, and with the consent of our heirs, and
the title of sale alienated to Master Thomas Bele, perpetual vicar of
Montross, a certain tenement of ours, containing two perches with three
quarters of land, lying in the burgh of Montross in the village called
murrastrete between the land of William Wyly to the north on the one side and
the land of the former William Borovman to the south on the other side for the
sum of fifty marks sterling in the currency of Scotland then current, which
sum the aforesaid master Thomas Bele counted for us at the time of the making
of the present charter in the said house and in full satisfied and paid.
In respect of which the sum of fifty marks, the aforesaid master Thomas,
his executors and assigns, we cease and desist forever by our presence. To
hold and hold the aforesaid tenement with its appurtenances to the aforesaid
master Thomas Bele to his heirs and assigns by us and our heirs in perpetuity.
[break] By rendering the said master Thomas to his heirs and assigns the
firm and service yearly due and customary to our lord the King. But we [break]
We will guarantee [break] Under the mortgage and obligation of all our goods
and all our goods
In witness whereof we have hereunto affixed our seal, and of all promises,
at Aldmontross, on the fifteenth day of November, in the year of the Lord, in
the year one hundred and eight. But the tenor begins thus in the second. You
will all see or hear this writing that Eufamia ly[Lady?] Grahame, the wife of
Patrick de Dunbar, a soldier of the lord of Bele, has given me, with the
consent and assent of the said Patrick my spouse, to give perpetual Salute in
the lordship of Noueritis, and by this present writing I have confirmed that
tenement to my beloved son William, lord of Ly Graham. mine lying in the
borough of Montross on the west side of the same borough, which indeed the
tenement looks to me by the name of a joint infeudation with Mr. Patrick Ly
Graham, a soldier formerly my husband. To be held and held by the said William
to his heirs and assigns for the whole of my life with all liberties [break]
To whomsoever. By making the said William his heirs and assigned to the
chief lord the due and customary service. In witness whereof, as I had not my
own seal, I have caused the Seal of Patrick Ly Graham, Earl of Palentine of
Strathern, my dearest son, to be affixed to my said writing, together with the
seal of the great and powerful Lord George de Dunbar, Earl of Marches, in the
same manner as the instance due to the agent through the said Patrick, my
fiance, to notice of his greater consent. At Bele the eighth day of the month
of October in the year of the Lord mo cccco eighth. After the perusal and
publication of the aforesaid charters, Sir Patricius, on the same terms,
signed by me as a notary public, requested that one or more public instruments
be made to him concerning the aforesaid Acts. which above In the presence of
the faithful and honorable men, Andrea Paniter, then Prefect of the said
burgh, William Serass, William Colin.
