it is said that his daughter and heir married Reginald, Earl of Cornwall. If this is true two possibilities arise. Either William cannot be the heir of Richard fitz Turold, whose estates formed a separate fief held of Earl Reginald in 1166, or Earl Reginald enfeoffed the lands which came from his wife.
